Compliance

A working compliance checklist for consent, DNC and calling hours

Compliance is cheaper to design in than to retrofit. A practical checklist covering consent records, do-not-call screening and state calling rules.

Calling leads and running outbound campaigns carries legal exposure, and most of it traces back to a handful of familiar gaps: no proof of consent, numbers that should never have been dialed, and calls placed at the wrong hour.

  • Record consent when the lead submits, including the exact wording they agreed to.
  • Keep a verifiable record with each lead: the time, the page and the consent text.
  • Act on opt-outs straight away, across every channel and campaign.

Screen before every dial

Check each number at the moment it is about to be dialed, not in a monthly batch. Use national and internal do-not-call lists, plus suppression lists for numbers that must not be contacted for a particular buyer, offer or campaign.

A blacklist blocks a number across your whole account; a suppression list blocks it only where you attach it. Most programs need both.

Calling hours and state rules

Allowed calling windows, holiday restrictions and contact limits differ from state to state. Enforce them inside the dialer, so neither an agent nor an automation can call outside the permitted window.

Number health at a glance: each number’s spam status by carrier, checked before calls go out.

Look after personal data

  • Limit who can view phone numbers and other personal fields.
  • Strip personal details from call transcriptions.
  • Clear or hash personal data once records pass your retention period.

Keep the evidence with the call

If a complaint arrives, you will need to show when consent was given, which checks ran and why the call was allowed. Store that record alongside the call, where anyone can find it quickly.

In Avortyx, DNC checks, suppression lists and blacklists run before any call routes or dials, state rules enforce calling-hour windows, and PII can be redacted or hashed on your retention schedule.

See it in your own numbers. Know where each call came from, send it to a buyer who can take it, and see what it earned.
